About Mike

Originally from Norwalk, CT, Mike Dick's interest in music was nurtured from a young age by his first teacher, John Cutrone. His passion for the drums that developed during these years led him to study at the Hartt School of Music's Jackie McLean Institute of Jazz under the tutelage of Eric McPherson, Steve Davis, Nat Reeves, Rene McLean, and Chris Casey. Mike received a Masters degree from the New England Conservatory in Boston, MA, taught by Billy Hart, Miguel Zenon, John Hollenbeck, Bob Moses, Cecil McBee, Jerry Bergonzi, and Jerry Leake. He has performed with such musicians as Wayne Escoffery, Peter Bernstein, Jimmy Greene, Jeremy Pelt, Steve Davis, and Nat Reeves. Mike is currently a member of the Afroperuvian Jazz band Forbidden Tropics and New Jersey-based Funk band The Do Rights. Mike Dick strives to be a force for good in the world through music.
